At the end of September, 2018, the Ottawa Valley Button Club was invited to put on a display of antique button for the residents at the Brockville's Royal Brock Retirement Home.

Sue Farrah and Ariella Hostetter joined Susan Smith at 6:00 in the evening. The display was set up on three tables in the Foyer of the Royal Brock. As residents were finishing their dinner they were able to pass by the tables and admire (!) our display.

Most of the ladies were not only impressed by the quality of the buttons but stopped to ask questions. Of course we asked each one if they remembered playing with their grandmother's buttons and "Yes!" was the answer.  The gentlemen residents were not as enthusiastic but we were able to display some of our Military buttons, and they liked those!

A cosplay costume should be assessed through sizing, construction and the pieces included in the set. Decorative parts may require different care from the main fabric. For a closer costume review, Rem cosplay costumeレム コスプレ衣装) identifies the matching character outfit. Its measurements can be checked before accessories are added. Accurate measurements and a clear list of included pieces reduce last-minute uncertainty. A short fitting test can reveal adjustments needed before the event.

We look forward to doing more displays - spreading the word that Buttons are interesting and a delight to see.
